I have never been treated so well while volunteering before. I would highly recommend this place for people looking for their first WWOOF experience. The farm is lively and holds an abundance of different projects. Everyone working is incredibly sweet, and the work environment is very respectful of everyone´s time. Sarah is an incredibly considering host, that makes the effort to make sure we are working with something we like, and that all our needs are met (Thank you for all the bread and for sharing the ratios for the ferments <3). The accommodations are very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and there is always food avaliable. We have full freedom to consume all fruits and vegetables, and there is also an abundance of other ingredients and ferments that make incredible meals. Food is generous here. The farm is in a great location, and you have the freedom to explore freely during the weekends. Fun day trips and activities are organized during the week, and it is 100% worth exploring the river and the farm itself! Thank you so much for hosting me <3 Im glad I could add to this project even if just for a little while♥︎

For my first wwoof experience, this was a fabulous choice! Beautiful farm and location, wonderful friendly host, great community. Sarah is incredibly accommodating and has an immense amount of food knowledge that anyone can learn from. Sarah is very flexible with work based off your ability and wants and depending if you like inside or outside work. Sarah has been incredible at showing the area around and showing all the fun activities to do in your free time. We would often go on trips to other areas in the region. My only tip is that if you come during the dry season, bring a bug head net! it helped me immensely.

What an incredible place filled with even more incredible people and animals! The tasks are so varied and you can really do what interests you most. No two days are the same. Sarah is insanely generous and kind with amazing projects going on. So much opportunity for learning and growth. I'm super grateful for my experience here; it was so hard to leave and I wish I could've stayed for months... the food is so delicious and you are well cared for here. So much love <3 I hope to return one day. Super thankful for everything!!

Guardian Farm is a great place. Remote from the hustle and bustle of the city. There is a natural swimming pool where you can refresh yourself after work. I was there for two weeks. Sarah has a big heart and is very committed to the people around her. At Christmas, for example, the people from the village were invited and the children received presents. She is also very accommodating when it comes to the time you have to do activities on the weekend. The food is amazing! I had a great time there! Thanks!

O staff falava em inglês e no fim foi divertido porque eu não sei falar quase nada hahah recomendamos demais a experiência e esperamos poder voltar um dia :) Thanks, see you!

It would be impossible to explain all the feelings that go through our hearts right now. Sarah is an excellent person with a huge heart, very patient and understanding. She is always open to listen and understand the needs of everyone, she has God as the main pillar of her life, and it was always very clear to us how much she loves this place that she cares for. Everything went much better than we expected, and we have nothing but thanks to Sarah. We will carry this experience and the people we met here in our hearts. Thank you Sarah.

I cannot recommend this experience highly enough, the time I spent here was absolutely incredible. There is a bright, friendly, calming & inspiring atmosphere about the place and Sarah is a shining soul who is supportive & welcoming to all volunteers. If you want to have a great time in Peru & see places you might not see doing the typical tourist routes this place is ideal. I loved the work here, it's diverse & Sarah allows you to play to your strengths, whilst also learning new skills if you are interested. Overall if you like nature, good food & good people, you should come!

The project is a very peaceful place that offers a lot of flexibility in regard to tasks and daily schedule. Sarah, the host, is very welcoming, and I enjoyed her positive attitude. The workers at the farm, are kind and helpful. I really enjoyed the fresh food that we had the joy of preparing and eating every day. The other volunteers were amazing. This is also a great place to volunteer if you would like to da weekend trip to Machu Picchu, as it is not too far. Sarah has great plans for the farm and wants to see the community prosper.
Errin - Australia
Guardians is a beautiful and welcoming space, a great place to detox from the stresses of the world. Sarah has really dedicated herself to many different projects to benefit the surrounding community. Volunteers like myself also got a taste of what it's like to live off the earth, eat nutritious food, be one with nature and work in a community/ team environment. Highly recommend the experience and getting to know Sarah

Sarah is such a wonderful person and host, her project exceeded my expectations by far! From the moment I walked into her beautiful home I felt so welcomed. As a chef this was more than the perfect opportunity for me, with the endless knowledge of Peru and its diverse environments/vegetation that Sarah provided. We had many unforgettable group trips on the weekends to the sacred valley, Machu Picchu and other surrounding areas. Would recommend this experience to anyone looking to connect with themselves and others more.
Jayna - United States
I had a great experience as a first-time WWOOFer and as a solo-female traveler and would recommend the farm to anyone looking for a really unique and gorgeous place to volunteer. The farm is very accessible from Cusco via bus/taxi and Sarah was SO helpful with assisting with travel plans and helping with planning our excursions on the weekend (waterfall hikes, Machu Picchu etc.) . The food was amazing and I learned about so many new cooking techniques and worked with many foods I was previously unfamiliar with. I met some amazing people and we all definitely had frequent 'world debates' so if you come here, I recommend coming with a very open mind because I think you'll learn a lot more about how others from other places view the world we all live in. Also- there's a natural swimming pool that was my favorite thing to jump in after a humid day working in the fields. The only warnings I would put are that there are a LOT of biting bugs and really large spiders in case that's something that would really bother you - it was something I had to get used to but didn't take away from everything I got to learn about. The farm work was good and you could really see your progress after the couple of weeks.

What a wonderful place filled with beautiful people. I stayed here during 3 weeks and could have stay lot more longer. Everything here is so nice. The work, you can choose what you want to do everyday, everything is so interesting ! The food is delicious, you have illimited acces to fresh fruits and sodaaaa. The host Sarah is so kind, generous and always want you to have a great time, she did so much for me and the others volunteer. The workers are really kind. The place is beautiful. I’m really sad to quit this place that feel like home ❤️

This was a wonderful experience all around. I stayed for only a week and a half, and it felt like a month. We worked on building hugelculture garden beds. There is fresh harvested coffee all the time and we are always getting into new projects, swimming in the pool, playing volleyball, or taking trips. We had a butterfly expert come in to talk to us about the biodiversity of Machu Picchu. Sarah makes it a totally welcoming environment, and her employees are amazing, along with the other volunteers I was with.

My stay at Guardian Farm was better than great! I not only experienced Peru, I lived it. Helping Sarah and the staff is something I will never forget. Learning so much about animals, gardening and the Peruvian culture was really special. I say special because I could feel their love for what they do and the love for those who pass through. Sarah and her staff are so kind to everyone and it shows by how much they work together and all they get done. Sarah truly loves what she does and it shows, she radiate as a bright light. I had to cut my stay a little short due to family issues but looking forward to going back. Thank you all 🥰

The time is running when you are at the Guardian Farm. There is so much to do, to see and to learn but it is also very calming and relaxing. From harvesting and processing tomatoes to planting trees and digging dirt, there is always something fun to do. I will definitely miss the people, the work, the little adventures, the food, (the tomatoes), the animals, the landscape, … and this already after two weeks. Everyone has always been lovely , kind and respectfull. Thank you, Sarah!

I believe there are many magical places on the planet. And what Sarah built in this small town in Peru is one of them. Particularly here, there is everything that I value in my travels: An extremely beautiful nature, very good people, very delicious food and the name of Jesus is placed first in everything. Sarah carries out several fantastic projects in environmental protection, social work and caring for others. I was with other volunteers from France, USA, Germany and during our days we did different types of work: We planted, painted, harvested coffee, I also worked in gardening and creat.

Sarah is a great host!! She is always keen to give you advices about the activities around the farm and help with whatever is needed. The area also is amazing, it is a spectacular bus ride from Cusco to the farm and the region itself, it is just incredible!! Not to talk about the food, absolutely delicious!! I had a great time in the mountains and with the volunteers!!

My experience at the farm was very calm and pleasant. Sarah is a very kind person and tries to do her best for the volunteers and workers. Sarah is also very generous with food, there was always plenty of delicious food to eat or prepare. The local workers are kind, kind-hearted people and you can also laugh a lot with Nely. I love animals very much and I feel like I will miss them a lot. This was my first volunteer experience and I think it was perfect! I feel very happy and grateful :D

Totalmente recomendado!

The place is beautiful. You are in the middle of the Sacred Valley. The house is quite, always clean and filled up with amazing goodies. Food is always prepared with lots of love, in groups with international volunteers and locals which creates really rich experiences. There is a lot we eat from what the farm produces, all organic and delicious. Tasks are very diverse and interesting so there is a lot to learn about from and experienced.

My time at the project was truly amazing! ❤️ Sarah has crafted a special place where people work, relax, and connect. Everyone is not just friendly but incredibly kind and supportive. Sarah fosters an environment where you are encouraged to pursue what you love, allowing for genuine personal growth. The house provides a comforting, homely atmosphere, and there are numerous activities to enjoy during free time. Special kudos to Obi and the cats—they thrive on attention and reciprocate with lot of love! the project isn't just a place; it's a warm, welcoming family and a unique way of life 🌱

I can't summarise how special the project is in words, especially not in a short review. Sarah is the most wonderful, uplifting, supportive and kind person. The work she does at the farm and for the community (and for the world!) is so inspiring. Working on the farm never really felt like work, as we were allowed to use our initiative and channel into our skills and hobbies, and could work on projects we enjoyed and were passionate about. You are trusted more than most volunteering opportunities which I really appreciated, and it made your contribution feel even more special. Thank you 🩷

Highly recommend this experience! Sarah is amazing to work with and an even better person. She has a talent at picking really cool volunteers- everyone is so welcoming and has an interesting background. My time here felt like a home away from home. You won't regret staying here!

Working on Sarah's farm for three weeks has been an enriching and fulfilling experience. From the moment I stepped onto the picturesque property, I was welcomed with warmth and enthusiasm by Sarah and her team. The work environment was both supportive and educational, allowing me to learn new skills while contributing to the daily operations of the farm. Overall, my experience working on Sarah's farm was nothing short of transformative. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of such a welcoming and environmentally conscious community. I leave with a newfound passion for sustainable agriculture and a wealth of memories that I will cherish for years to come. Thank you, Sarah, for an unforgettable experience.

I spent two weeks at Sarah's farm and it was an amazing experience. This place is such a paradise, surrounded by nature, animals and wonderful plants. If you are proactive, you will have a lot to do on the farm as Sarah has thousand of projects in her mind. Also, she is an excellent cooking chef. Everything is homemade and vegetarian, it is always a pleasure to try the dishes. The employees are very nice and generous as well, as Sarah. I wish I could have stayed two months or even a year, to be more involved in the progress of the different projects and to see all these little lettuces growing. It was the best break I could ever dream of in my one-year bike trip and thank you for that.

Highly recommend! In the two weeks I was here I got to help around the gardens (replanting banana plants, weeding, stringing up cucumbers), cook, and practice spanish. There was plenty of free time to hang out with all the animals and relax. The hot springs nearby are lovely, and there are plenty of trails to explore in the area. I was able to do the Salkantay trek by taking a few buses to the starting point from the farm. Sarah, Nellie, and Pascuala cook delicious food and are really generous in sharing it. Fresh fruits and veggies are abundant! I loved seeing all the ferments Sarah’s started as well. I’m inspired to make some vinegars. I’ll miss my nightly routine jumping in the pool under the stars. Farewell, and thank you, El Establo! Hasta pronto.

It was a grateful experience. We stay two weeks and it was amazing. We can choose between work inside and outside every day. We can speak long times with the workers who are formidable people and will always take time to help you. We have amazing vegeterian food in every meal. The farm is on a really cool location. There are many things to do near from the farm and they will help you to organise your activities if needed. Sarah is an amazing person. She is really kind and have always the smile. We recommend this farm if you want a good experience with local and plants.

I spend two wonderful weeks volunteering at the guardian farm! It was such a great time and an absolutely amazing experience that I will never forget and I am so thankful to have got the opportunity to be a part of this fantastic project. Sarah is an incredibly inspiring, strong, kind and caring woman who can teach you a lot about ecological farming, cooking and how to be a good human. What I especially enjoyed about the volunteer experience was that each day I had the freedom on to decide what I want to work on. You can explore different work fields and get engaged with the local community and other lovely volunteers. I loved working in the garden and kitchen, especially around christmas time :))The place is great if you want to feel at home during travelling and if you like spending time in nature. I am so sad to leave this paradise. I already know that I will miss the people, the animals, the food and nature!

Spent two weeks there and I will definitely return! Sarah is an incredibly kind and generous host and has built a wonderful farm, I felt very welcome from my first day on. What I especially appreciated are the many opportunities one has to realize own little projects with lots of support and encouragement from Sarah. The nature and surroundings are stunning as well, I will never forget yhat foggy view of the mountains. Even when I got sick for a few days, everyone was kind and understanding, so in spite of that I had a really good time on the farm. Thank you Sarah & everyone else who I got to meet in Hyuro!!

My volunteer experience was incredibly beautiful. Sara is a great person, she is fun and cares about making the stay a perfect place. I loved this experience, my first as a volunteer. I felt very welcome, the house was like my second family, both with the volunteers and the people of the village. As for Sarah, she's a very kind, welcoming and attentive person, who allows us to carry out our projects and work according to our own skills. In short, I loved this experience and I'm ready to come back one day if life gives me the chance.

Sarah has created an incredibly kind and relaxed environment. I loved being surrounded by so much nature, lovely people and it was great having the time to explore the area. I enjoyed the work and loved that we were able to do tasks that suited our skill sets or helped us to learn new skills- there's also so much room for creativity. I'm excited to see what the project gets up to next - there seems to be some very interesting and impactful projects in the works and if I ever visit Peru again I would love to come back.
Ornella - Italy
The time spent at the project was very fulfilling. There were other international volounteers and together with Sarah and local workers, we immediately bond to work together as a group. The place is just magical and Sarah is always a step ahead to think about new activities that can enrich the project and the community.

Sarah is a very kind and caretaking person. She treats the local workers and the volunteers with respect and kindness and she knows a lot about organic farming. With the project she created a paradise on earth and it was wonderful to see how every working day on that land brought us closer to our goal of selfsustainability. I'm curious how the farm an it's projects will grow within the next year's. During our stay we had enough time to explore the surrounding, hiking to Machu Picchu and we even went to a tea plantation and degustation. All in all I had a wonderful stay there.
Rebecca - Brazil
My experience was very rewarding, Sarah is a kind, generous person. The farm is very cozy, with abundant nature and the team of workers are always open to teach volunteers how to do the tasks properly. I have a special affection for Nelli and Pascuala, it was wonderful to meet them. Another positive point is food, the farm offers a variety of delicious foods, and Sarah always shares her amazing recipes with the team. It's a truly gastronomic experience. We will miss you all! Including the house pets, the project Obi, Siete, and all the kittens.

At the Farm you can learn a lot about self-sustainable farming and living, immerse yourself into farm work, help maintaining the facilities, and get to know the locals. Sarah wants to make sure you are doing what feels best for you so that you stay motivated and are enabled to cause the best impact for the farm, its inhabitants (human or not) and the community around. The Farm lives from proactive engagement, and your ideas are much appreciated. We were also given a lot of flexibility for going on adventures, like visiting machu picchu, going for bird watching and exploring the nearby town.

I had an amazing experience! Awesome people , great food and I got to learn so much more about Peru than I would have elsewhere. Sarah did an amazing job at organizing tours and making sure my needs were accommodated. Lots to learn here, highly recommend!

I had an absolutely amazing experience on the Guardian farm. Sarah, Virginia, Obi and all the other volunteers made my stay as awesome and unforgetable as it was! I have to especially thank Sarah. Besides her kind soul, she always tries to match the perfect kind of work for everybody. So I got to try and learn a great variety of things within my short time on this marvellous place. On one day I've been doing manual work on the field, on the other day I've been cooking and experimenting with fermentation. I also tried some more creative stuff like painting, creating concrete leaves or helping with a video-project. So I think everybody could find something to contribute to the growth of the Guardian farm. Thanks again and I hope I'll have the chance to get back soon!

I had such a good time on the farm with Sarah and the other volunteers. The food was so delicious. The work was fun and rewarding. I built greenhouses with some of the local workers and some of the other volunteers. There were other more experienced WWOOFers here who said this was the best place they had volunteered at. 10/10 would recommend.

It's been a real pleasure to spend the last 3 weeks at the farm. The location is perfect, rural and saturated in nature but close enough to the town that you can remind yourself of civilization for an evening. However my greatest thanks goes to Sarah , whose incredible generosity and kindness creates an environment where you can feel at home. Sarah always put in extra effort to provide me with vegan food and seemed genuinely grateful for the work I was doing. It's great to work with someone so passionate about their project. The farm itself is still in it's earlier stages, but everyone involved is working super hard to keep it moving forward. I am really interested to see where it goes. I really recommend it.

600 characters are not enough to describe this place. As our first volunteer experience, it couldn't have been better. We have so much to thank Sarah for. A person with a giant heart and a priceless love for what she does and the place she cares for. The hospitality, the facilities, the nature, the animals, the food, the work, the people, everything about this place is fantastic and we will carry it in our hearts forever. Sarah's connection with God is something rare. Something pure and genuine. That was very important to us as well. Gratitude! I hope to come back.

Sarah is a very warm, kind and caring person, she is very passionate about the work being done at the farm, and this really shines through to what they have achieved so far here. There was a real community feel here with all of the volunteers and those who worked for Sarah, I felt welcomed and safe from the beginning.
