Spirulina's history dates back to the Aztecs and the Mayans reaching all the way into today. Spirulina has a highly dense nutritional value - perhaps the highest density of nutrition in a food - Nasa uses it as a space food.  It is a blue green algae, a cyanobacteria, which is a family of single-celled microbes and believed to be one of the oldest things on the planet.

For more wisdom about spirulina (many studies have been conducted) here is a link:

We received the mother culture in the mail last year, the strain is  Arthrospira ‘Orovilca’ from Ica, Peru.  It is thriving and we harvest it weekly. We serve it with limon or orange juice at our breakfasts on the farm.  It's health benefits and massive list of vitamins can contribute to all of our well-being.

Spirulina is known for it's high iron content.  I imported a few gummy bear molds and am creating a processed sugar free gummy that we would like to share with high altitude communities that suffer from anemia.  The vegetarian gummies the kids may love <3

We will keep you updated as we grow.
